Nordkap - North Sea trawler

The Nordkap is a typical North Sea trawler built in 1970 at a British shipyard. The kit is based on the original ship drawings. With a tonnage of 185 GRT, a length of 40 m and a 1000 hp diesel engine, the Nordkap reached 12 to 14 knots of speed and could catch herring and cod in the waters around Iceland and Greenland with a crew of 7 to 8 men.

This kit is built using the classic frame construction method. All wooden parts are precisely cut out by laser. A 1:1 construction plan, building instructions, as well as all wooden, plastic and many brass fitting parts required for assembly are included.

Billing Boats is a traditional model building company from Denmark with beautiful ship types from the North Sea, but also with famous classics such as the Calypso or African Queen. Mr. Billing himself invented the semi-hull construction method, in which two halves of the hull are first built flat on the building board and then assembled. The 600 series by Billing Boats is manufactured in this construction method, which is very suitable for beginners. In the last three years Billing Boats unfortunately had a very difficult phase, out of which the company is constantly and with great commitment of the Billing family working out again. However, at times longer delivery times or unexpected production bottlenecks must be expected, for which the family asks for understanding and patience.

Billing Boats also consistently uses laser technology to cut out the wooden parts and supplies beautiful fittings made of plastic and brass. The kits are always designed for quality at an affordable price.
