Drago Sailing Boat RC Kit 1:6
Modern, sporty, and true to detail – the DRAGO is a typical 21st-century daysailer. Its full-size counterpart can be found on many lakes and coastal waters – easy to handle, trailerable, and with a distinctly sporty character.
About the Model
Developed by Uwe Kreckel, well-known author and model sailor, the Drago combines modern design with well-balanced sailing characteristics. A detailed building manual makes assembly straightforward, even for advanced beginners.
His idea of creating a modern daysailer model with an extendable bowsprit and twin rudders, offering both sporty and well-balanced sailing performance, immediately convinced us.
We are delighted to work with Uwe Kreckel to turn this model, with all its features and details, into a modern and versatile kit. The movable skipper figure “Luca” adds the finishing touch, bringing the Drago to life and adding an extra dimension to model sailing.
DRAGO features the large, open cockpit typical for this boat category, a twin-rudder system, a wave-piercing bow with extendable bowsprit, and a hull shape that transitions from a round bilge at the bow to a hard-chine stern. This kit is designed as a complete set and includes the full rig with carbon mast, boom, pre-cut sails, and all parts required for rigging. Since the model does not have a self-tacking jib, at least two sail winches are required for RC operation to control jib and mainsail independently.
A high-quality fiberglass hull and laser-cut, engraved plywood parts form the foundation of this kit, making it comparatively easy and quick to build. 3D-printed fittings and the characteristic multicolored lines in the open cockpit give the model an authentic and realistic appearance.
The model’s namesake, a stylized dragon, winds its way along the hull as a self-adhesive decal, giving DRAGO its striking and unmistakable look.
A comprehensive building manual ensures that even advanced beginners can assemble the model without difficulty.
