The Vaurien-Jolle is an internationally spread regatta dinghy. Jean Jacques Herbulot designed the light and inexpensive plywood boat for the Les Glénans sailing school in 1951. Since 1961 the Vaurient has been recognised by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) as an international single class.
In the meantime, more than 36,000 boats have been built. The Vaurien sails stable due to the buckling construction and is easy to control even for beginners. The Vaurien is well suited for sailing training - sailing it optimally fast requires skill at the helm and good teamwork.
The model was built in our dinghy scale 1:10 using original drawings kindly provided by the class association vaurien.de and photos. Many details could be realized by the modern laser production in this model. The kit contains all wooden parts exactly cut out by laser. Wooden parts can be stained to the desired wood colour before assembly. Fittings are etched brass. Mast and main boom are assembled from several laser parts and then sanded down. The sails have also been cut out with laser beams.
Construction plan and building instructions with many detailed sketches are also included in the kit.
