- Description
Nuestra Señora
Now also with German building instructions!
The Nuestra Señora de la Concepción y de las Ánimas was the first Spanish
three-decker. The construction of this imposing ship with 94 guns was started in
1682 by the master shipbuilder Antonio de Amas and she was launched in 1687 at
the Colindres shipyard in Cantabria. She had a displacement of about 1500 tons.
There were two sources for the reconstruction of this ship, the book "Arte de
Fabrica Reales" of 169, which contains some drawings, and a painting in the
church "Iglesia de la Asunción" in Arcenillas, Zamora.
Dusek's construction kit is very richly equipped. The construction is based on
laser-cut keel and frames. All other wooden parts are also laser-cut. Double
planking with precious wood strips makes the construction robust. All ornaments
are etched from brass or made in the resin casting process. The paintings at the
stern are on high quality print. The sails are sewn from the enclosed fabric. A
lot of construction plans and perspective drawings facilitate the construction
of this impressive Spanish ship.
