Drachen with brass keel
The first kite was built in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1929. The sailing characteristics of the boat were so extraordinarily good that this type of boat quickly spread throughout Europe but also around the world. Over time, the kites were modified more and more, so that today only the shape of the hull corresponds to the original. In 1948, the boat class became Olympic and all dimensions were subjected to the Olympic standard.
This kit is based on the classic frame construction method. All wooden parts are precisely cut out by laser. A 1:1 construction plan, building instructions, as well as all wooden, plastic and fitting parts required for construction are included. This model is also suitable as an RC model. The ballast keel as well as rudder, mast and sail cloth are included.
