St. Canute

The St. Canute was built in 1931 at Frederikshavns Værft og Flydedok A/S. Sailed for many years under its original name "St. Knud" as a tug and icebreaker in the harbour of Odense (Funen). "St. Canute" is 28 m long, 7.60 m wide and has a draught of 3.80 m.

These construction kits are based on classic frame construction. All wooden parts are precisely cut out by laser. A 1:1 construction plan, building instructions, as well as all wooden, plastic and mesing fitting parts required for the construction, as well as ship's shaft and 3-blade ship's propeller are included.

A MAX Power 400 with a length of 38 mm is provided by Billing Boats as the propulsion unit. We recommend the MAX Power 450 because of the higher torque, but then the recess in the wooden bulkhead must be enlarged accordingly. There is plenty of space in front of the motor for the battery. Either a 6V lead battery or a 7.2 V racing pack can be used.

Billing Boats is a traditional model building company from Denmark with beautiful ship types from the North Sea, but also with famous classics such as the Calypso or African Queen. Mr. Billing himself invented the semi-hull construction method, in which two halves of the hull are first built flat on the building board and then assembled. The 600 series by Billing Boats is manufactured in this construction method, which is very suitable for beginners. In the last three years Billing Boats unfortunately had a very difficult phase, out of which the company is constantly and with great commitment of the Billing family working out again. However, at times longer delivery times or unexpected production bottlenecks must be expected, for which the family asks for understanding and patience.

Billing Boats also consistently uses laser technology to cut out the wooden parts and supplies beautiful fittings made of plastic and brass. The kits are always designed for quality at an affordable price.
