LifeColor Liquid Pigments

LifeColor Liquid Pigments are water-based liquid pigments specially developed for model building. They allow realistic weathering and usage effects such as rust, dust, rain streaks or wood textures and are the ideal complement to the classic LifeColor acrylic paints.

What are liquid pigments?

Liquid pigments combine the fine effect of pigments with the easy handling of a liquid. They are ready to use and can be applied, mixed, and corrected directly.

Differences compared to acrylic paints and powder pigments

• Acrylic paints: Cover surfaces evenly and are intended for base and top coats. Liquid pigments are more transparent and are used specifically for effects and shading.
• Powder pigments: Must be fixed with binders and are harder to control. Liquid pigments are already bound and can be applied directly and corrected with water.
  

Application possibilities

The product range includes various sets (LP01 to LP06), each developed for specific effects:

• Detail enhancement on objects aund figures
• Rust effects
• Rain and dust streaks
• Wooden decks and ship hulls
• Tracks and rails
• Wings and aircraft fuselages

In addition to the sets, which each contain 6 bottles, LifeColor liquid pigments are also available individually. This allows specific colors to be added or tested separately.
 

Processing

• Apply directly with a brush or sponge.
• Remove or blend excess with water.
• Work in thin layers and combine effects.
• Optionally seal with clear varnish.

Tip: Work in small areas and build up effects step by step – this creates natural transitions and realistic structures.
