Colin Archer new version

The originally named "RS 1" was built for the "Norsk selskab til skibsbrudnes redning" (Norwegian Society for the Rescue of Castaways) in 1893 at the Colin Archer shipyard in Rekkevig near Larvik, Norway. "RS 1" was only later christened "Colin Archer" after her designer and builder, and later became world-famous for her pointed-gate design. A total of 30 ships of this type were built.

This kit has been revised by Billing Boats. The hull is built in keel and frame construction and planked with battens. Many wooden parts are laser-cut. Rudder, ship's shaft with stern tube and propeller are designed for propulsion with electric motor. The sails are controlled with 3 sail winches. For the mainsail we recommend the Windforce 1406 sail winch and for the headsails 2 Windforce 1006 sail winches are suitable. All fitting parts are included with building plan and instructions.

Billing Boats is a traditional model building company from Denmark with beautiful ship types from the North Sea, but also with famous classics such as the Calypso or African Queen. Mr. Billing himself invented the semi-hull construction method, in which two halves of the hull are first built flat on the building board and then assembled. The 600 series by Billing Boats is manufactured in this construction method, which is very suitable for beginners. In the last three years Billing Boats unfortunately had a very difficult phase, out of which the company is constantly and with great commitment of the Billing family working out again. However, at times longer delivery times or unexpected production bottlenecks must be expected, for which the family asks for understanding and patience.

Billing Boats also consistently uses laser technology to cut out the wooden parts and supplies beautiful fittings made of plastic and brass. The kits are always designed for quality at an affordable price.
